 recommends My fiancé and I booked a week-long ocean kayak fishing trip at Los Buzos with Robert Field for my 60th birthday as a way to thumb my nose at getting old—and it delivered in every possible way. My fiancé and I are experienced kayak anglers, but ocean fishing was new territory for us. I went in with realistic expectations, though I’ll admit I hoped for a roosterfish and a cubera snapper. After meeting a few anglers returning from their week at the resort the night before we arrived, the anticipation really kicked in—and the trip still exceeded it. Los Buzos is a haul from Panama City, but the drive is scenic and well worth it. The resort itself is tucked into a stunning, remote stretch of coastline—quiet, beautiful, and thoughtfully run. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive. Daily breakfasts and packed lunches were generous (often more than I could finish), and dinners were prepared fresh each night from our catch. Sashimi starters, perfectly prepared fish dishes, and hands-down the best Sierra mackerel I’ve ever eaten. Our group included six anglers from around the world, and by the end of the week we felt like old friends. On the water, Robert was exactly what you want in a guide: knowledgeable, encouraging, calm, and fully engaged. With help from Gallo and Pedro, we were well supported every day. I caught everything I’d hoped for—and then some. Great fishing, great food, great people, and memories that will last until our next trip back. Los Buzos isn’t just a fishing destination—it’s an experience done right.

 recommends Absolutely the best!!!! Again! This was our 3rd trip and you don't keep re-booking for no reason. Just as always Morris and AJ made the booking smooth and easy. The new lead guide Shane was amazing, knowledgeable and had great tune selection for our panga rides. The captains which we've met before were super fun as always putting us on the fish (or opportunities to catch lol, it was up to us to hook them?). We don't speak Spanish, but we all speak fish. The food and drinks never disappoint.  We really enjoyed the larger New additional panga which aloud all 3 brothers to fish together throwing poppers side by side to the rocks, trolling and jigging. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Los Buzos!

 recommends Great fishing vacation.  Spent a week there with a group of 7 others where we mothershipped kayaks 5 full days of fishing.  Got two of the main target (Roosters) I was looking for and had great camraderie and meals.  Robert Field was an excellent guide. If you are a diehard kayak angler wanting to maximize your time on the water and minimize your cost, then these weeks are definitely your best option. They are 5 full days of fishing geared toward the full-time fisherman/fisherwoman, with the option of bringing your own gear or renting ours.

Details for Trips

Group trips are week long (Sunday morning pick-up – Saturday morning return) all-inclusive kayak fishing package to our lodge here in Panama. Any kayak fishing angler can join one of our kayak fishing weeks. Check out our availability calendar and book your trip now!

Standard Lodging: two occupants in each room with air conditioning and hot water showers.See upgrade options
Kayak: Hobie Outback Mirage Drive Kayak, Jackson Kayak Coosa FD or Knarr, Lightning Strike kayak
5 full days of guided fishing: we fish every day for 6 hours or more with launch time based on the tide
Now includes no upcharge for mothershipping within home range (between Vaca and Corto)!
Short range mothership out of home area (Morro, Granada, Sierra, Portobelo)
Long range mothership out of home area (Ventana, Mata Palo, San Patricio, Bajo Gringo)
